Acousterr Tab Maker is a free online tablature and sheet music editor for guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, piano and drums. Every part you enter is shown as tablature and standard notation at the same time — the same notes in two readable views, plus note names and a grand staff — so you create a full score and a guitar tab in a single pass instead of transcribing one into the other.
No need to read sheet music
You don’t have to read standard notation to get started. Enter notes by typing fret numbers, clicking the on-screen fretboard, or playing the piano keyboard, and each note is written onto the stave for you automatically. Because the notation is generated as you play, reading and writing sheet music from tablature becomes something you pick up along the way rather than a prerequisite.
No chord shapes or theory to memorise
Add a chord by name and the editor drops the full voicing in for you, shows the shape on the fretboard or keyboard, and lights up the notes that fit the detected key as you write. Pro Tips for Using Tab Maker
Write the melody on one track first, then add the accompaniment or the harmony on tracks of their own. Play the score back often as it grows: a line that reads correctly on the page does not always sit well against the parts around it.
Set a bar's beat resolution before you fill it rather than after, so the notes land on the grid you meant. And when a section comes back unchanged, mark it as a repeat instead of copying the bars out — the score stays short, and one edit fixes every pass.
