About Ian Anderson - Ian Scott Anderson MBE is a multi-instrumentalist who plays keyboards, bass guitar, bouzouki, balalaika, saxophone, harmonica, and whistles . Anderson is the lead vocalist, flautist and acoustic guitarist of British rock Ian Anderson was born in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland . He was influenced by his father's big band and jazz records and the emergence of rock music . Anderson was disenchanted with the "show biz" style of Elvis Presley . Anderson was educated at Blackpool Grammar School in 1959 . In 2011 he was asked to leave school for refusing to submit to corporal punishment .
