About Misirlou : "Misirlou" is a folk song from the Eastern Mediterranean region . Original author of the song is not known, but Arabic, Greek and Jewish musicians were playing it by the 1920s . The earliest known recording is a 1927 Greek rebetiko/tsifteteli composition . The song was a hit in 1946 for Jan August, an American pianist and xylophonist nicknamed "the one-man piano duet" It gained worldwide popularity through Dick Dale's 1962 American surf rock version, originally titled "Miserlou" Misirlou is the feminine form (in Greek) which comes from the Turkish word Mısırlı . The song is about an Egyptian woman . It was released in 1962. It was released as part of album Surfers' Choice. The genre is instrumental rock , surf rock. The track was release in 1962. Misirlou has a significant contribution from artist(s) مصر‎ Miṣr 'Egypt').

About Dick Dale - Richard Monsour was a pioneer of surf music . Dale was known as "The King of the Surf Guitar", which was also the title of his second studio album . He drew on Middle Eastern music scales and experimenting with reverberation . Dale worked closely with Fender to produce custom-made amplifiers . He pushed the limits of electric amplification technology . The first-ever 100-watt guitar amplifier was the first 100- Dick Dale was born Richard Anthony Monsour in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 4, 1937 . He was of Lebanese descent from his father, James, and of Polish-Belarusian descent . He learned the piano when he was nine after listening to his aunt playing it . Dick Dale's music is influenced by genre(s) - surf rock , proto-punk , instrumental rock , rock and roll.
