About Minus the Bear : Minus the Bear was formed in Seattle, Washington, in 2001 . Their sound was described as "Pele-esque guitar-taps and electronics" The band's final line-up consisted of Jake Snider (vocals, guitar), Dave Knudson (guitar), Cory Murchy (bass guitar) and Alex Rose (synthesizers, vocals). On July 17, 2018, the band Matt Bayles, keyboard player and producer for Minus the Bear, announced he would be leaving the band . He was replaced by Alex Rose, who previously worked as sound engineer on the band's second full-length album, Menos el Oso . Their music is influenced by genres - indie rock , math rock , alternative rock , experimental rock , progressive rock.
