About Street Survivors : The LP is the last Skynyrd album recorded by original members Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins . It is the sole studio recording by guitarist Steve Gaines . The album was an instant success, achieving gold certification just 10 days after its release . The album performed well on the charts, peaking at #5 (the band's highest-charting album) The album was recorded twice, once with Tom Dowd at the helm at Criteria Studios in Florida, and then at Studio One in Doraville, Georgia . In March 2008, the album was re-issued with alternate versions of most of the songs . It had a contribution from notable artists like Ronnie Van Zant,Allen Collins,Steve Gaines. It had an affiliation to bands - Street Survivors,Lynyrd Skynyrd. Its music is influenced by genres - southern rock , boogie rock.
