About Taking Back Sunday : The band was formed by guitarist Eddie Reyes in 1999 . Adam Lazzara (lead vocals), John Nolan (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Shaun Cooper (bass guitar), and Mark O'Connell (drums) for their live performances . Louder Now (2006) was the band's breakout mainstream album . The album sold over 900,000 copies and peaked at No. 2 on the United States Billboard 200 . Taking Back Sunday's EP was released in 2001 . Adam Lazzara replaced original bassist Jesse Lacey (now of Brand New) during the recording sessions .
