About Not of This Earth (Joe Satriani album) : Not of This Earth is the debut studio album by guitarist Joe Satriani . Not of This Earth was recorded in early 1985 . Satriani promises a follow-up album will "turn heads, drop jaws and create world peace" The title track uses a unique compositional technique described by Satriani as pitch axis theory . " Rubina" is one of two tracks named after his wife, "Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness" It had a contribution from notable artists like Joe Satriani. Its music is influenced by genres - instrumental rock.
