About Gish : Gish is the debut studio album by American alternative rock band the Smashing Pumpkins . Frontman Billy Corgan has variously described Gish as a "very spiritual album" Rolling Stone magazine ranked Gish the 32nd greatest grunge album of all time . Rolling Stone ranked the album 32nd grunge grunge . Gish was eventually certified platinum . Gish recorded from December 1990 to March 1991 in Madison, Wisconsin with a budget of $20,000 . Vig and Billy Corgan worked together as co-producers . It had a contribution from notable artists like Billy Corgan. It had an affiliation to bands - Gish,the Smashing Pumpkins. Its music is influenced by genres - alternative rock hard rock psychedelic rock grunge.
